Energy MedicineReiki:
The practice of Reiki originated around 3000 BC in what we now call Tibet. Until the mid 1880’s Reiki was part of mankind’s hidden history, surviving primarily by oral teaching in various monastic orders. Sometime between 1870 and 1880, a Japanese theologian, Dr. Mikao Usui, began searching through ancient Tibetan Sutras to find formulas that activate and harness the universal life force. With the encouragement of Buddhist Monks, Usui went into seclusion to gain mystical union and receive energetic attunement. Upon his return to Japan, Dr. Usui began treating others with the transmissions he received. Since then a lineage has developed connecting his original work to the Reiki practitioner. This ancient wisdom tradition uses the life force energy to heal by balancing and revitalizing the subtle energies within our bodies – relieving stress, reducing pain and bringing overall wellness in to our lives. Reiki comes through, not from, the practitioner. This unique feature allows the practitioners to use Reiki on themselves or to help others regardless of the state of their own personal energy. Reiki principles state that this universal energy is not filtered through the user’s conscious or unconscious belief systems but remains pure to find its way wherever and however it is needed. The next level of empowerment shifts the healing dynamic from a passive state of reception to active engagement, facilitating the client’s ability to practice self-healing techniques through attunements. Attunements are similar to upgrading the wiring in an older home.
Treatment sessions can be done in person or at a distance. Attunements require prior sessions to establish the students’ level of readiness. When appropriate, attunements will be offered in person. |
